Class 1 HGV Driver

Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time)
Pay Rate: £15.45 per hour + overtime
Shift patterns: Any 5 days from 7, start time 5am
Location: McKinney Road, Newtownabbey - BT36 4PE
Closing date: Monday 5th August
DHL, an award-winning leading supply chain business is seeking a HGV Driver to play a vital role in our distribution service.
WHAT DOES THE ROLE ENTAIL?
As part of your normal duties, whilst maintaining excellent health and safety practices, you will:
- Drive safely and compliantly at all times;
- Be legally compliant with working time directive and EU Driving hours legislation;
- Maintain regular contact with the transport team;
- Comply with local legislation requirements and company policies and procedures at all times;
- To represent DHL in a professional manner to customers and provide excellent customer service at all times;
- Regular completion of vehicle checks;
- Manual Handling of Customer Products;
- Timely and efficient completion of deliveries and transportation;
- To undergo regular training and driving assessments.
WHAT DO WE NEED FROM YOU?
- Valid Driving License C+E (Class 1);
- Driver CPC certification;
- Ability to move product in line with H&S regulation;
- Previous experience of driving an artic truck
- Ability to follow work procedures and safety rules;
- Ability to read, understand and follow directions / instructions;
- Knowledge of EU driving regulations and geographical area.
***Please note applicants will be required to undertake a driving assessment on site as part of the application process***
