Business Controller

This is a key commercial role, reporting to the Commercial Manager, with dotted lines through to the Directors of Operations. The main purpose of the work is the provision of timely and accurate information relating to business performance and supporting necessary commercial decision making. While it has a commercial focus, the job will also work very closely with the transactional arm of the finance team, to ensure we are processing and transacting accurately and in the most efficient manner.
Key outcomes of the position include:
- Facilitating the Business Case Analysis (BCA) process for contract renewals
- Formulating, implementing, maintaining cost/budgetary control mechanisms, and timely preparation of Budget and Forecasts
- Management and cost reporting, and analysis and modelling to include business cases
- Identifying and addressing potential revenue leakage, and ensuring end-to-end processes are effective and efficient
- Influencing and building key relationships
You are fully qualified, either CA or CPA, with a minimum of 5 years accounting experience, preferably within background in audit. To be successful in this role, your ability to not only report the numbers but also understand key drivers will be paramount.
You have a track record in business partnering with key stakeholders, at varying levels within an organisation, and have demonstrated an ability to influence. You have a can-do attitude, and never settle for the status quo, always challenging the norm, and searching for better and improved ways of doing things. Previous experience within complex organizations and accounting structures/systems, and BI tools use is highly desirable. Your ability to resolve sometimes complex problems or processes, to manage multiple tasks, and to meet key deadlines is a must.
