In addition to service leavers, our commitment also extends to reservists, service family members and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers.

Armed Forces Covenant
DHL is proud to have signed the Armed Forces Covenant in 2014, demonstrating our commitment to those who serve or who have served in the armed forces and their families.
In 2022, we were honoured to receive the Gold Award for the second time from the Ministry of Defence in the Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS). Renewing our Gold status is a huge reward based on the dedicated work that we do to ensure that service leavers are supported when entering civilian careers.

Our Commitment
DHL is committed to supporting and advocating for service leavers and their families.
Our military steering group works hard to ensure members of the armed forces community get the right support they need when they join DHL.
All veterans can take part in our buddy scheme when they join us. The scheme offers support to veterans as they transition to their new civilian role and gives the opportunity to connect with another colleague, who is often a fellow veteran.
We work with the Career Transition Partnership Assist to support employment opportunities for Wounded, Injured or Sick veterans.
Our DHL colleagues volunteer and fundraise to support members of the armed forces, ex-service men and women, their families and dependants. Last year, we raised £50,000 for the armed forces community.
We value our reservists and through our signed commitment with the Armed Forces Covenant, we endeavour to support your career at DHL.
Employees who are members of the Voluntary Reserve Forces will be given two weeks' paid leave of absence a year in addition to their annual holiday entitlement to attend annual military training (Annual Camp).
We engage with service leavers whilst they are in their resettlement by attending military employment fairs, ensuring we have a mixture of recruiters and ex-military colleagues present to offer advice and talk about opportunities available.
We also hold military insight days to build understanding between the military and the private sector.
