A very much sought after opportunity has arisen to join DHL Supply Chain New Zealand as a HR Business Partner.  This is an exciting and dynamic role that is part of a team of talented and dedicated business partners responsible for the delivery of best in class HR services to the business.  A key focus of the role is to ensure the services provided enable the business to perform at its best. Equally important will be continuing to develop and grow yourself as well as supporting the growth and development of your fellow team members.

Partnering with the Director of Operation’s and their Leadership team at our large Highbrook site, you will be supported by the National HR Manager and a talented HR Team and will be responsible for helping shape and deliver the HR agenda that closely supports the overall strategy for the Highbrook operation.

Working with General Managers and Operational managers, front line leaders, employee representatives, and logistics employees within DHL Supply Chain at Highbrook, in a true HR generalist role, you will be providing high quality support and advice on all people related challenges and opportunities. You will have experience working in a unionised workplace and feel comfortable in this environment.

Additionally, this position is also provided with the opportunity to lead and manage general HR projects across all the DHL Supply Chain NZ Business.

We’re looking for somebody who has:

  • A minimum of three years Senior HR Advisor/HRBP experience coupled with a tertiary qualification in HR
  • A sound working knowledge of NZ employment law
  • Excellent relationship management and customer service skills. There is a strong emphasis on providing a high level of internal customer support so you’ll need to thrive in a fast paced environment where we work at pace, to tight deadlines, while maintaining high standards
  • The ability to partner and influence others at a Senior level
  • Previous experience working in highly unionised operational environment
  • Strong employment relations experience
  • Mature approach, discretion, and sound judgement
  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation, and training skills
  • The ability to work both independently and as part of a close team
  • And most importantly – team fit is key.. While we need to be politically astute in our roles the team prides itself on not getting political.

This position will spend time between our sites, mostly at Highbrook, however also at our Airport sites, so you will need a driver’s license and the flexibility to work across our South Auckland sites. We also operate with a flexible approach within our team to support each other’s portfolios and sites.
