Scope of Role

  • Work as a team of Warehouse Handlers and maintains smooth warehouse operations.
  • Handles cargo movement and performs loading and unloading of trucks / containers.
  • Plans resources and capacity.
 

Days & Hours of Work : Monday – Thursday 2.00pm-9.00pm Friday 2,00pm-2.00am Rest Days Saturday and Sunday

   

Key Activities:

  • Takes part in all cleaning functions daily and signs off check sheet
  • Ensures contracted suppliers comply with company quality procedures Maintains pro-active communication/relationship with peers/superiors and especially informs superior immediately of discrepancies, problems or non-performance or non observance
  • Label Import / Export freight as required.
  • Load & Offload domestic and international vehicles, mark manifests and notify discrepancies and damages
  • Complete any warehouse related documentation is completed for operation
  • Ensures all warehouse related tasks are performed in the Road freight application (Freight soft),Thermonet,FSI
  • Action Operational irregularities / customer complaints, and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensures all physical barcode scanning is performed as required
  • Ensures good housekeeping, bins emptied daily
  • Co-ordinates loading of Road Export vehicles on a Saturday, and completes final weekly inventories
  • Ordering, stock control, maintenance of warehouse supplies / equipment
  • Monitors day to day H&S in the warehouse and highlight areas of concern
  • Facilitates customer & quality audits
  • Controls DGF bonded warehouse
  • Work closely with Yardman to manage trailer capacity and lane control.
  • Ensure all import/export manifests and trailer check sheets are printed off for each load.
  • When trailers are loaded/offloaded make sure that both manifest sheets are marked with any discrepancies and signed by the person that offloaded the trailer.
  • Send all papers and manifests are sent over to Cedar Drive ASAP.
  • Ensures that all health and safety guidelines and procedures are kept to. Also that all team members or anyone entering the warehouse has full PP
  • Participate in the implementation of operational processes and perform work to the standards of Good Distribution practice (GDP) for Life Science business, as require
  • Ensure operational compliance to all revenue and international trade legislative requirements, in addition to all DGF IE policies and procedures (H&S, Quality, Environmental, HR, etc), and work in a manner that supports the Company environment programme

Skills/Qualifications:

Expected years of experience (minimum)

  • Two years of experience in a similar role.
  • Forklift operating and hand pallet truck operating skills.
  • Relevant working safety regulation knowledge.
  • Understanding of each customer's needs.
  • Capacity to set clear and realistic goals and objectives.
  • Leadership and training skills to develop team members
 

Expected Qualifications:

  • Ability to work effectively, independently, and in a team environment.
  • IATA Dangerous Goods
  • ACSP-trained
  • GDP-trained
