DHL Supply Chain is seeking a Vice President of Solutions Design who wants to provide value to the business and customers through design and execution of solutions in line with overall regional strategy, product development, industry and market needs while aligning with The DHL Group growth initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and implement strategies that have short to long-term (1-5 years) impact on business results in alignment with global and functional objectives.
• Define the Solutions Design strategy in line with overall regional strategy, product development, industry and market needs, Group guidelines and policies; including leveraging the latest technology to develop compelling solutions.
• Set direction to evaluate business risk and translate bid strategy and customer requirements into actionable instructions, especially for large global/regional tenders with large volume and/ or complexity and of highly strategic nature.
• Control budget for regional resource pool, understand capacity issues and plan hiring accordingly.
• Create criteria and control resource allocation for projects, especially prioritized projects and/ or during resource constraint.
• Direct prioritization of projects and work including bids, operational requests, renewals, etc. within sectors, products, and countries
• Drive maintenance of practices in the region/ setting up new practices as mandated
• Consult with business and business development teams to meet local expectations, take decisions on exceptions, monitor bidding pipeline, understand sales success and performance of solutions.
• Monitor overall solution quality, usage of global/regional cost models and activities and advise on high-risk customer engagements.
• Drive and support consultative and holistic end-to-end Supply Chain focused selling approach in conjunction with Business Development, to deliver exceptional customer value beyond RFP process.
• Collaborate with senior/ executive level customers to agree on the scope of major projects and ensure delivery of projects and work packages as per customer expectations.
• Build and develop comprehensive understanding of strategic global sector and customer requirements, suppliers, competitor activities and market trends to influence direction of major projects.
• Benchmark, develop and introduce world class business process quality & improvement methodologies and tools.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant Discipline, required.
• Master’s degree, preferred.
• 10+ years relevant experience in solutions design, required.
• Consultative and Facilitation Skills (internal and external), required.
• End to End Supply Chain Experience, preferred.
