Job Description

DHL Supply Chain is seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of API Strategy & Product to lead the strategic direction, development, and management of our API ecosystem. This role will focus on ensuring seamless integration of customer-facing and operational APIs to enhance digital connectivity, drive innovation, and foster strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external partners. The ideal candidate will champion our API strategy, aligning it with the broader digital transformation goals of DHL Supply Chain.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a comprehensive API strategy that supports DHL Supply Chain's digital transformation goals.
• Lead the strategic direction, development, and management of DHL Supply Chain's API ecosystem, ensuring alignment with global and regional initiatives.
• Champion the API strategy whilst identifying and implementing process improvements.
• Define and maintain the API architecture roadmap, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technological advancements.
• Own the eConnect API integration platform, driving its adoption and usage across global and regional markets.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with external partners, customers, and internal stakeholders to support business growth.
• Oversee the development and deployment of APIs, ensuring they meet quality, performance, and security standards.
• Establish and enforce API governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

Education & Experience

• Strong knowledge of API design principles, RESTful services and relevant programming languages as well as experience in design and implementing high volume, low latency API’s.
• Strong understanding of API design, development, and management best practices, including security and performance optimization.
• Proven experience leading digital projects in a multinational company, preferably within the logistics or supply chain sector.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
• A degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, with relevant API certifications preferred.
• A visionary mindset, with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement in API design and implementation.
