About the job in aircraft handling
For Eric, working with airplanes has always been a great desire. Since 2020, he has been part of the DHL family. Together with the team, he is responsible for loading and unloading cargo aircraft on the apron.

Ejiro is an operations agent at DHL Hub Leipzig and is responsible for unloading or reloading freight shipments into unit load devices. She has been part of the team since 2014 and appreciates the teamwork with her colleagues.

Customs clearance at the DHL Hub in Leipzig
Sebastian works in the customs department – our customs clearance division, which is responsible for processing import, export and transit shipments. All customs-related processes are handled immediately to ensure on-time delivery to the customer.

Whether by bike, S-Bahn or car, many roads lead to DHL Hub Leipzig. Our employees are offered a subsidized job ticket from the Mitteldeutscher Verkehrsverbund (MDV). Our location is directly connected to the public transport network. With the free DHL bus transfer from the Schkeuditz S-Bahn stop to the hub and back, our employees can easily reach the workplace.

For the more athletic colleagues, there is the possibility to lease a job bike. For those who prefer to travel by car, there are plenty of free parking spaces available.

Our Health Management

To ease the operational workload, our employees are equipped with high-quality work attire and innovative support systems are integrated at the workplace. In the terminals, for example, various technical aids are installed to make it easier to lift packages or pull cargo containers. 

Our health management cares for the well-being of our employees. Our employees are cared for by a team of company physicians and have access to a wide range of preventive health services. These include flu vaccinations, massage offers and sports courses. Memberships in a gym are also subsidized to encourage the physical health of our employees.

Social Engagement

Together with our long-standing cooperation partners such as the 'Delitzscher Tafel', the Schkeuditz youth club 'Neue Welle', the association 'Internationale Frauen Leipzig e.V.' or 'brotZeit e.V.', we help exactly where it is needed.

As part of Global Volunteer Day, the name given to employee volunteering at the DHL Group, numerous colleagues regularly volunteer, organize adventure days for children or support at social institutions. In close partnership with the state-owned company Sachsenforst, employees from DHL Hub Leipzig have planted more than 15,000 trees to date, erected wildlife fences or tended forests.

The Hub in Leipzig is the world's largest air freight hub in the network of DHL Express. After sunset, the DHL hub at Leipzig/Halle Airport awakes. Every night, well-rehearsed teams take responsibility for hundreds of tons of freight. They all work hand-in-hand to unload, sort and reload the freight in the shortest time possible. To tackle our challenge every night, we are looking for helping hands.
