OUR EMPLOYEES TALK

“I hadn’t seen any other graduate schemes like this. Getting to experience Sales, Continuous Improvement and Marketing has been really valuable for me, getting to work on so many different projects within different teams.”
About opportunities she’s gained, Victoria says some of the best experiences have come from outside her day to day responsibilities; “I love all the training courses I’ve been on because I’ve got to meet so many people across the business. I’ve also been involved with a GoTeach scheme, I’m a CIS facilitator and I got to take my mum to the O2 to watch the ATP tour two months after I started working!”
Victoria is now a permanent member of the Marketing team, having taken a role as a Product Marketing Executive.

Anthony Williams, our Pick Up and Delivery (PUD) Supervisor, has worked at DHL for over 14 years and even starred in the DHL 50 Years TV advert alongside Bryan Adams! We asked Anthony what his most memorable day at DHL has been. “I can’t really say just one day as there have been a few, but probably the day I got told I was successful in getting the PUD Supervisor role is one, as it’s something I never saw myself doing. Also, being chosen to play a role in the advert to celebrate 50 years of DHL was definitely a memorable day!"

“After completing my apprenticeship, I was made a permanent team member and have had the chance to explore the business in other roles, such as Trade Compliance Agent and Network Advisor.
Since joining DHL, I have gained so much confidence and learned new skills which have changed me as a person. I have made so many memories but the one that always springs to mind is my CIS induction course – the laughter, learning and meeting new people.
I would 100% recommend the DHL apprenticeship scheme as there are so many opportunities from being a part of the big yellow machine.”

Having begun his journey as a part-time employee over 10 years ago, we spoke to Muhammad Ateeq about his experience with DHL Express UK. Muhammad explained: “When I started working at DHL as an agency worker, I quickly saw that it was the best place to work. Everyone works as one family and DHL always encourages employee growth through training and vast resources.”

Emma George started her career at DHL Express as an apprentice, completing her Level 2 and Level 3 NVQ qualifications during her time with the business. After her apprenticeship, she gained a permanent role with DHL Express and has since moved around various departments within Customer Service. Emma is now a team manager and really enjoys her role.
During my apprenticeship, I enjoyed doing the job and learning at the same time. This was my first proper job role after my A levels so I was nervous, but they made me feel so at ease.
I would 100% recommend the apprenticeship scheme to others – it has provided me personally with a good foundation to progress into management. The world really is your oyster at DHL!”
