As a recent graduate or young professional, our program offers you an exceptional start to your career with DHL Industrial Projects (IP). Over 24 months, you will gain experience in various functions, working across four countries in different continents: Houston, Texas as your home base, with planned rotations abroad to Dubai, Germany and Singapore.

Project logistics is unique in the logistics industry: no two shipments are the same, and the routes include some of the most remote in the world. You'll face fresh challenges and learn something new every day. DELIVER COMPLEX PROJECT ACROSS THE WORLD

From Olympic stadiums in the center of London to wind farms in the Norwegian fjords, from semiconductor fabs in Mexico to oil rigs in the Middle East, we transport equipment and components to support the construction and ongoing operations of large projects. Whether it's a 65-meter wind turbine blade or a 20,000-ton concrete pipe, we find the solutions to bring them to where they are needed.

FUNCTIONAL ROTATIONS

To accelerate this development, our program's rotational structure exposes you to up to 8 business functions over 24 months, helping you to get a well-rounded perspective of the business. At the same time, you get to put on various hats and decide which are the best fit for your individual interests and career goals.​​​​​​​

EXPERIENCE DIVERSE ASPECTS OF IP

Each functional placement will last 3 months, during which you will join a team of specialists managing certain aspects of the business, from Operations to Commercial to Controlling. Working alongside these colleagues in their areas of expertise, you will experience diverse aspects of the business in a practical environment, and you may even take up the responsibility of managing your own projects, supervised by your rotation manager.

Operations

Operations is at the core of our business, fulfilling and executing our customer promise in the best way possible

Tendering

The tendering team manages customer requests and liaises with various stakeholders to prepare competitive bids

Commercial

Our commercial experts engage with existing and potential customers across industries in all parts of the globe

HSE

Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) enables our workforce to carry out our work in a safe and healthy manner

Digital

Our digital team maintains our systems and enhances our business intelligence capabilities

Controlling

The controlling team manages our financial flows and analyses our P&L results on a global, regional and country level

Hub Operations

This team manages multiple dedicated customer hub operations for complex projects globally

OFR

Our Ocean Freight (OFR) experts liaise with the DHL Global Forwarding business to optimally position Industrial Projects

Chartering

Our internal chartering department arranges and negotiates the renting of vessels for our operations

WHAT OUR PROGRAM LOOKS FOR

  • Excellent academic records in a relevant degree, or 2+ years of relevant working experience, or a military background
  • Strong communication skills in English; additional languages will be beneficial
  • Activities or experience demonstrating strong team and leadership skills
  • Adaptable to changing environments and sensitive to diverse teams
  • Inquisitive and excited for new challenges and responsibilities
  • Willing to participate in a "hands-on" work environment
  • Full mobility to travel and work in foreign countries

APPLICATION PROCESS & TIMELINE

Our international graduate program starts once per year in January. Applications for the January intake are open from September till October.

We hire through a multi-stage application process, for which you can find the details below.

1. Online Application

Apply online with your CV and cover letter. The application window is open from September till October 2023.

2. HR Interview

If we find you a good match for our program, we will schedule a telephone interview to get to know you better and answer any questions.

3. Manager Interview

After a successful HR interview, we will explore your background and ambitions in an interview with one of our business leaders from Houston.

4. Offer

Successful candidates will receive an offer to join our program, starting in January 2024.
