What our College Recruits have to say about their experience
What our College Recruits have to say about their experience
"My path at DHL Supply Chain first started at The Ohio State University (Go Bucks!) career fair for data analytics in my junior year of college. I did not have any prior knowledge of what our company did and was not intending to apply, but DHL was the first booth I talked to “for practice.” I did not know it then, but I hit the jackpot because I was lucky enough to have a lengthy conversation with Ben and Eric, two members of the eCommerce Analytics Team! I ended up getting extremely excited about the possibilities of advanced analytics within the company, and I decided to join as an intern in the summer of 2020.
As an intern at the SCSC (Supply Chain Support Center), I worked on a predictive model and benchmarked our analytics progress against our competitors. I was able to present these projects to team members and at capstone, which was a valuable experience. As my time as an intern ended, I saw how focused DHL was on allowing us to focus on personal development (through learning classes, side projects, etc.) which drove my decision to return full-time as a Business Data Analyst in 2021.
From 2021 to 2022, I worked at our TJX HomeGoods site in Groveport, OH where I gained hands-on experience with one of our warehouses. This was key to my development as I was able to gain experience mapping a data model, facilitating labor planning, and building descriptive reports in PowerBI. I also gained soft skills such as presentation techniques and getting good at playing ping pong. Alongside this, I continued the predictive model work I did as an intern, which I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to present to the NORAM Board on. At the beginning of 2023, I was promoted to a Sr. Business Data Analyst to work on scalable advanced analytics projects for the eCommerce Sector where I am excited to continue making an impact!

What made you choose DHL Supply Chain?
- I chose DHL supply chain because of the initial interaction with business partner at the career fair. This DHL partner was enthusiastic about the company, and passionate about what he did. He outlined what the future looks like, and my potential within the company. After that, I knew that DHL was the place I wanted to start my career.
What has your career path been?
- Operations Supervisor: Worked in outbound and shipping department.
- Transportation supervisor: Responsible for scheduling LTL and TL carriers to meet cutoff times.
- Transportation Manager: Oversee all shipping schedules for the operation, manage customer service, oversee order flow and management.
- Inventory Control Manager: Able to gain a lot of knowledge of inventory transactions and working with large data sets to make impactful business decisions.
- Operations Manager: Start up for TJX (HomeGoods) facility. Able to gain a lot of knowledge in the entire setup of a building from start to finish. Able to create process flows for all operations areas in a complex environment different from many other operations within DHL.
- General Manager: Able to support at the Carhartt facility right after their start up. Was able to bring additional visibility, and leadership to a strong team and continue to make strides within the DC.
- Director of Operations: Opportunity to relocate my family to Atlanta, Georgia to help bring stability and leadership to the largest eComm site that we have in supply chain. It is an extremely fast paced changing business, which keeps me on my toes, with an average of 1,700 associates across a 5-shift operation.
What has kept you with DHL Supply Chain?
- Culture: DHL has a great culture in the fact, the people you work with truly feel like family. I have met some of my best friends in life working with DHL and the friendships you build. We hold each other to a high standard, and bring the best out of each other, and that filters to the floor, working with our biggest asset, the associates. I enjoy going to work every day, because of the culture that has been built.
- Opportunity: I have been extremely fortunate in my career by taking on opportunities. Looking at my career path, I have taken on particularly challenging roles that no one else wanted. This has made me better and helped me to perfect my craft, which has led to promotions, and continuously being challenged, and learning. At DHL, you own your career path, and there are leaders within the organization who are willing to help you get to where you want to go.
- Competitive: Being a former athlete, I am very competitive. Supply chain is an industry that is always changing, and every day I am trying to be the best at what I do. We have a lot of talented individuals in our company, who push me daily to be better. I like how we are competitive, but also try to make the people around you better at the same time.
What made you choose DHL Supply Chain?
- The career tree shown in recruiting! With many interests, the idea of not being pinned into a job title or operational silo appealed to me. Knowing that I could go anywhere within the organization, it helped me select what projects and areas of supply chain I was interested in and pave my own path.
What has your career path been?
- Anything but linear- College recruiting supervisor, several roles in industrial engineering (focused on continuous improvement and network expansion), general manager, and now director of operations. I have had the opportunity to be part of 7 start-ups, 9 different eCommerce operations, located in five different states. I'm not sure if it is worth mentioning, but I did participate in the tuition reimbursement program where DHL sponsored/paid for my MBA focusing on finance. It was a lot of work and time but supported my development. I was able to take subjects learned in classes and apply them immediately to the work I was doing in my role.
What has kept you with DHL Supply Chain?
- Every day that I come into work, I am given the opportunity to learn something new and build upon my current skill set. Every customer has a distinct set of business needs. This results in solutions with similar foundations, but tailored to be slightly different, each with its own unique challenges to overcome. That keeps you on your toes- Being able to solve operational problems on the fly, while bringing in the perspective, views and needs of the associates keep me motivated. Also, being part of a large organization with expertise in third-party logistics allows our teams to lean on each other for best practices and support. There is a lot of value in being able to reach out to a coworker to solve a problem and garner more than just one viewpoint to find a holistic solution to a problem.
What made you choose DHL Supply Chain?
- I chose DHL Supply Chain because I knew I would instantly gain leadership experience in the Operation Supervisor role. The interview process made me excited for the role and even to this day, I remember the business partners I met at each stage of the interview process. What truly solidified my decision was that my group toured the site I ended up getting an offer from—an opportunity not everyone gets. Being able to see the site I would be working at made it easy to see myself within the environment and team.
What has your career path been?
- I started with DHL Supply Chain as an Operations Supervisor at the OceanX site in Columbus, OH. I then moved to Atlanta, GA to join the ASOS site as an Operations Manager where I have spent the last 4 years in various areas of the operation.
What has kept you with DHL Supply Chain?
- I have stayed with DHL Supply Chain because I have continued to be challenged and invested in. I have been supported by my managers, peers, and team when challenged and continue to grow with each obstacle. I was given advice from a manager when I first started to take on opportunities that scared me. Through taking on new opportunities, I have been able to grow professionally and make connections with leaders across multiple sites and functions. These connections have made DHL seem like a small company in a short amount of time.
What made you choose DHL Supply Chain?
- A few things: First, the opportunity to lead people straight out of college was very appealing. Second, the message and culture that was displayed by the recruiters was very impactful – I could tell this was an organization that rewarded challenging work and provided opportunities to “Be More” (as was said back then). Lastly, the college day and networking experience during college day was great and the final check to pick Exel/DHL Supply Chain.
What has your career path been?
- I started as an ops supervisor with AICE (AEMCE) in Memphis. I was promoted to an OM II at our Bayer site with the Life Sciences sector. Shortly after supporting the Kimberly Clark start-up also in Memphis, I was promoted to OM I. I then took a lateral move leading all operations at our Zimmer site before taking a sector role within AEM as an Ops Systems Manager. After supporting two start-ups with AEM (Canada & San Antonio), I was promoted to GM with AEM at our Goodyear facility in Atlanta, GA. After another lateral move in Atlanta to support a new start-up with Life Science and Pfizer, I was promoted and relocated at Dallas, TX. as a GM I of the new Kohler site with the Consumer sector. After leading that site for 3.5 years, I was promoted to Director in the SW Region of Consumer.
What has kept you with DHL Supply Chain?
- The People! Without question, the relationships I have built with colleges all around NorAm has been a primary reason I stay with DHL. In addition, the opportunities for growth and development are almost endless, especially if you are willing to relocate. These items plus the amazing culture rooted in respect and results is why I have and hope to work my entire career with DHL Supply Chain.
What made you choose DHL Supply Chain?
- I chose DHL Supply Chain due to the positive interactions that I had with the recruiting and operations team since day one. They treat you as if you are a valued member of the team and I appreciated their communication throughout the internship process all day to the offer process. Also, hearing all the growth stories of young professionals who found their passion for Supply Chain made me feel secure in my decision.
What has your career path been?
- I started as an ops intern in 2016 at a P&G facility in Lima, Ohio. It was my first-time stepping foot into a warehouse, and I truly did not know anything about the industry. I really enjoyed the hands on/people aspect of the internship. After that Summer, I excitedly accepted an offer for Ops Supervisor role at the Toys R Us account in Columbus, Ohio. Nine months later, I got the opportunity to support the Coty Inc account which was rapidly growing. I got my first promotion as Customer Service Manager at Coty in the summer of 2018. After being in a support role for the majority of the 2018/2019 year, I really missed being a leader in the Operations. I applied and took a lateral 2nd shift Ops Manager role at Rodan + Fields. The Rodan + Fields account shaped me into the leader I am today. I learned an immense amount about leadership, production planning/execution, peak season planning, customer & employee relations; it was a packed 3 years of growth as I worked my way up into a GMIII role into that account in April of 2022. Most recently, I have moved into a GMI role at the Wella account in Columbus. I look forward to the challenges ahead as this building retrofits and removes old school mechanization to upgrade to Locus robotics. 2023 is going to be a fun year!
What has kept you with DHL Supply Chain?
- I’ve stayed with DHL Supply Chain because of their engaging culture and vision for the future. So many people here are rooting for you and there to support you throughout your career! I have never felt stuck in my role and am confident that if I decided to try something different, I could seek the development needed to make it happen.

"I chose DHL Supply Chain because I was lucky enough to be surrounded by great leaders who were on a mission for excellence. I really fed off their drive and ambition to be the best site we could be. It matches my personality – high motor, addicted to success and positive results. I started my journey as an Intern supporting a Chrysler/Stellantis start up in Virginia in 2017. In 2018 I accepted a full-time position as a Transportation Supervisor supporting the Goodyear Customer out of Atlanta, GA. I supported that team for a year and a half. In 2019, I accepted a promotion to Transportation Manager and launched a new Nissan site in Baltimore as the site manager. 6 Months into Baltimore, I was promoted to a GMIII. I ran that site for another year.
In 2021, I then accepted a promotion to GMII and relocated to a brand-new account/customer in Greer, South Carolina where I launched a Warehouse and a Transportation solution for ADS. I ran the ADS Business in South Carolina for a year and a half. In 2022 I then took another promotion to GMI, moving back North to run Nissan Somerset and Nissan Baltimore both. I am in PA where I can travel to Somerset and Baltimore as needed as the site GM. I also support the ADS Wilkes Barre intermittently. I have stayed with DHL because of the relationships and investment that I have felt from my leadership team. They have invested a lot of time and energy in me, and I know that I am appreciated and supported in every facet of my journey."
